ABOUT
ECHO DANCE COLLABORATIVE
ECHO Dance Collaborative exists because our co-founders and artistic directors,
Kate Amdur and Travers King, realized the need for a warm and welcoming environment that allowed adults to pursue their passion for dance. They wanted to create a climate that would help dancers continue their goals and have an outlet for emotional and physical expression.
ECHO is different because it is a collaborative. The dancers themselves help to create the content, based on a common theme, through auditioning pieces to the directors. This is what makes us unique. Every dancer has the opportunity to dance, to create, and to teach. Because of this our shows have a beautiful mix of styles and inspirations and our pieces are relatable, honest, and raw. Each audience member walks away with a different and meaningful experience.
These stories are honed into a multimodal experience, both auditory and visual, and the end result is not a recital, but performance art. ECHO has proven to be more than your average dance company.
